Securing your privacy in the digital age
requires more than a lock and key.
Let me tell you what personal privacy online looks like for me.
My name is Jonathan , I’m an entrepreneur , self-taught software developer, and privacy enthusiast. As a software developer, I’ve had the unique opportunity to see behind the veil of the digital privacy and security world. From this perspective, I’ve been able to navigate and transform my life in a way that protects my personal privacy and secures my online identity. Now I’m taking the lessons I’ve learned over the years and sharing them with you, so that armed with knowledge, you can begin taking actions to secure your own life.
I’ve been hacked and it’s no fun.
I’ve been working with computers for as long as I can remember. I even remember the first hotmail address that I created and the password to go along with it. For many years I’d heard how easy it was to be hacked especially if you were using the same password in multiple places, but as a teenager, I didn’t have many digital assets to protect and to be quite honest, I couldn’t be bothered to come up with a new password. So as any young person does, I carried on using that same password on site after site for many years and as you’d expect there was no problem … until there was.
One day I received a message from a friend asking me why I was spamming everyone on my facebook account. “Is everything ok?”, he asked. I was horrified. I checked my account immediately to find that my account had been sending out all sorts of horrible links to my friends and making fishing posts using my account. Lucky, I was able to go in and change out my 5 year old password and set up 2 factor authentication for the first time.
It was then that I realized just how vulnerable my online information really was and that set me on the mission I’m on now. To secure my own digital footprint and protect my online identity.
What do I have to offer you?
Whether you’re a working professional, a stay at home parent, or a privacy enthusiast like me you’re facing challenges related to understanding how to secure your personal privacy online. I’ve faced many of these challenges already and using my experience, I believe I can help you to successfully navigate the treacherous waters and find your way safely to the other side.
